08 Jul Celebrate Freedom All Summer Long

Is shaving keeping you from enjoying the Summer months? Waxing can be the perfect fix.

Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different growth cycle. A popular common myth is  “will waxing make my hair grow back thicker?” The answer to this would be no. When hair is waxed it is being removed from the follicle allowing new “baby” hair to grow in its place, this in turn makes the new hair much thinner.

MediSpa offers Nufree Hair Removal products, a Soy based wax that is anti-microbial and anti-bacterial and safe for all skin types. Facial, brazilian, and bikini waxing services are available here at MediSpa. Our estheticians have extensive experience in waxing services, are highly trained and truly confident in offering a comfortable atmosphere.  Below you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Q. When can I have my first wax?

A. To get the best results, your hair should be at least ¼” long. This takes the average person 1 to 2 weeks. After the first wax, as long as you do not shave between services, you’ll find the second wax to be more comfortable. It is not advised to shave between appointments.

Q. How long will the redness last?

A. For most people it takes up to 1/2 hour for any redness to subside. After waxing, do not tan, exercise, and be sure to avoid chlorinated water for at least 24 hours. Avoid perfumes, scrubs, or other irritants the day of the waxing service.

Q. How long do the results last?

A. If you’ve been shaving, there may be a transition period. It generally requires 2-3 consistent waxes at a 4 to 6 week interval to achieve optimal results.
