Laser Vein Removal

Laser Vein Treatment at Medi-Spa at Knoxville Dermatology Group is a procedure for removing spider veins, angiomas, and broken blood vessels from the face. These spider veins are often one of the symptoms of Rosacea.

The laser device provides an intense light beam that targets the veins by penetrating the outermost layers of skin without damaging those layers. The light absorbs the pigment of the vein, reducing or removing the unsightly discoloration.

The main advantage of laser treatment is its ability to target only the areas to be treated, leaving the surrounding tissues intact. This provides a safer procedure, eliminates the need for a recovery period, and reduces the possibility of complications.

At Medi-Spa at Knoxville Dermatology Group, we use three laser devices for the treatment of facial spider veins: Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), 1064, and Varilite. Each individual laser device provides us with subtle variations that allow for greater precision and a safe, effective result.

GETTING LASER VEIN TREATMENT

Your treatment should take about 15 minutes. Please do not wear makeup for your appointment.

A cool gel is applied to the treatment areas, and you are asked to wear goggles during the procedure. A hand piece is then used to administer the laser light. The sensation may sting slightly.

LASER SPIDER VEIN REMOVAL RESULTS AND RECOVERY

You will require a few treatments to alleviate as many veins as possible. The veins will gradually fade over a 3-week period following your treatment.

100% of veins may not be eliminated, however, and new veins will develop over time, requiring more procedures in the future.

Some redness, bruising, and/or minor inflammation may occur, but this should be gone within a couple of days. We may suggest you use an ointment or other skin care products after your Laser Vein Treatment in order to speed the healing process.

It is important to avoid sun exposure and always wear sunscreen when outdoors for a period of time after your Laser Vein Treatments, as your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage.

If you have spider veins on your legs, Sclerotherapy is the procedure we recommend to alleviate those veins, which are usually somewhat larger than the veins on the face.

IS LASER VEIN TREATMENT SAFE?

Laser treatments are very safe because they are non-invasive and precisely target only the areas that require treatment.
